DGW is proud to announce the arrival of our M4 stripped flattop upper receiver for AR-15 and .223. The AR15 upper receiver matches very well to the DGW15 Lower Receiver. Details and technical specifications can be seen on the website page for the DGW M4 Upper Receiver.
With the introduction of our upper, we are also supplying matched receiver sets. These sets will be specifically selected and tweaked by our full-time gunsmith. As AR upper manufacturers, we are unique because we can control all the aspects of matching a receiver set in house. By fitting the upper and lower receiver together before the anodizing process, and then making sure they go through finishing together we not only assure the best fit, but we also make sure that you will have the most consistent colour in the industry. This is not possible unless you finish the parts at the same time.
Finally, the DGW AR15 lower receiver and the DGW M4 Upper Receiver are engineered to fit perfectly together. Both are held to tolerances that are mil-spec or better and we have noticed a markedly better fit between our two products than when fitting our products to other manufacturers.
More about receivers: In firearms terminology, the receiver is the part of a gun that houses the operating parts. The ar 15 lower receiver often contains the bolt carrier group, trigger group, and magazine port. In most handguns, the receiver, or frame, holds the magazine well or rotary magazine as well as the trigger mechanism. It is sometimes called the body of the firearm, while in the context of handguns (revolvers and pistols), it is often called the frame. It is often made of forged, machined or stamped steel or aluminium; in addition to these traditional materials, modern science and engineering have introduced polymers and sintered metal powders to AR 15 lower and AR 15 upper receiver construction. Most AR upper receivers are forged mil-spec A3 stripped upper receiver with extended M4 feed ramps and Hardcoat anodized as per Mil-A-8625.
